Quick Summary
Strong first set built on aggressive net positioning straight after the serve. Second set dipped as return depth got shorter, letting the opposing drive player take the net first. Set three fixed itself the moment you slowed the return down — more of that, earlier.
Shot-by-Shot Notes
- 04:12Backhand return sat up short, let their drive player close the net first. Aim deeper on the return, even at 70% pace.
- 11:47Great bandeja off the back glass — height and depth both on point. Repeat this shot, it's a weapon.
- 18:30Forced error trying a vibora down the line at 0-30; the lob was on and available — take it next time.
- 26:05Smash decision was correct, execution needs the wrist snapped through contact rather than arm speed alone.
Ready Position & Low Balls
Strong ready position: knees bent, weight low and a wide, stable base, so you can push off either foot. The problem is the low ball. The ball is down at ankle height and outside your racket-side foot while your hands and racket head are still up at chest height. Move your feet to the ball first, then drop the racket head early by bending the knees rather than reaching. Watch the clip: green is what is working, orange is what to fix.
Technical Breakdown — Backhand Volley
Racket head is dropping below the wrist on contact, which is why the ball sits up for the opposition. Keep the head up and the wrist firm, and step into the shot with your front foot rather than reaching with the arm. Shortening the backswing will give you cleaner contact and a deeper, lower volley.
Tactical & Mental Game
Tactically you were strongest when you held the net and forced them to lob. Mentally, you lost focus after dropping the first game of set two — two quick unforced errors followed. Take a deep breath and reset with a simple routine between points to stay level when momentum swings.
Patterns We Noticed
Opponents targeted your backhand at the body on 6 of the last 9 points in set two. Once you started stepping around it in set three, the pattern stopped working for them.
Your Action Points For Next Session
- Return depth drill — 20 returns, target the back third of the court.
- Recovery footwork after your own smash — reset to the middle before the next shot.
- Backhand-at-the-body reps — step-around volley until it's automatic.

What players say about Harry's coaching
Real messages from players Harry has coached.
Unbelievable session tonight! The detail you give and how you break everything down really helps it click. Can't wait for the next one!
This is unbelievable, thank you so much for the info, great reference for me. My backhand felt really good and made sense closing the edge — lesson of 3 other coaches and none of them came close to that tonight, was brilliant!
Stayed composed, your topspin was unreal — especially catching it higher on the racket face. Seriously positive session, loads of improvement already — just keep sharpening those details!
Played today and managed to win our match 3-6, 7-5, 6-1. Serve was definitely better — will keep practicing the glass shots!
Really enjoyed today. Volleys were soooo much better!! Will definitely be in touch again.

Questions, answered
Everything you need to know before you send over your footage.
What footage do I need to send?+
A link to the full match — Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer or an unlisted YouTube link all work. Filmed from behind or above the court is ideal, but it doesn't need to be professional: a phone on a tripod or the club's own camera system is fine. Got an AI ball-tracking camera at your club? See the next question.
My club has AI ball-tracking cameras — can I use those videos?+
Yes, and they're ideal. If your club records matches with AI cameras, open your match in the club's app or account, then copy the share link or download the video. Paste the link into the footage field when you submit (or attach the file if it's small). Please make sure the link is set to "anyone with the link can view" so I can open it without asking for access.
How long does my breakdown take?+
48 hours for a Single Match Analysis. Monthly Plan clients get priority 24-hour turnaround.
What do I actually get back?+
A video walkthrough plus a written report — shot-by-shot notes, tactical and mental-game analysis, positioning, recurring patterns and clear action points for your next session. See the sample above.
Can you analyse doubles matches?+
Yes — most of what I review is doubles, since that's what most club and league players are actually competing in.
Do I have to subscribe, or can I just get one match analysed?+
Single Match Analysis is a one-off, no subscription needed. The Monthly Plan is for players who want regular feedback — four matches analysed a month, technical breakdowns of specific shots between matches, a free HB Padel t-shirt, a monthly progress call, and in-person match watching if you're in Northern Ireland.
How do I pay?+
Pay by card through the secure Stripe buttons in the pricing section, then send your footage using the form. Your analysis starts once payment is confirmed and your footage has been received.
How do I cancel my monthly plan or update my card?+
Use the manage your plan page and enter the email you subscribed with. You can cancel (it stays active until the end of the month you've paid for), update your card, and download receipts.
Can I get coaching in person too?+
Yes — I coach full-time at Padel 54 in Moira. Get in touch and we'll sort a session. Monthly Plan members in Northern Ireland can also have me watch their matches in person.
What if I'm not happy with the analysis?+
Message me directly and I'll sort it. The whole point of this is that it actually helps your game — so if it hasn't, tell me.
Still got a question? WhatsApp me on 07585 704313 or message @hbpadel_ on Instagram and I'll get back to you.
